Team Blaze wins Qualifier #1 of Enter the Storm North America Cup #2

The first qualifier for the second North American Enter the Storm cup began Saturday with double the prize pool up for grabs this time.

With only 13 participants in this first qualifier, the results of various roster changes and new lineups are being felt in the NA scene. Nevertheless, the first qualifier for Enter the Storm Cup #2 was the perfect opportunity for teams to tryout and showcase their new players, like the promising performance of Tempo Storm’s lineup first seen at Heroes Rising.

Srey, Zixz, and Goku are playing with the team now but have not been officially signed yet. The choices seemed to have faired them pretty well so far, but it wasn't strong enough to hold back Team Blaze.

Game #1

Tempo Storm went into game #1 with a bit of a strange composition, featuring a Zeratul pick and a Lost Vikings pick on Sky Temple. While the Vikings pick was smart for experience gain, it didn’t fair worthy in late game team fights, causing a boss loss and three quad-kills at the hands of Blaze. Blaze was able to push with a boss and take the win.

Game #2

Going into game 2, Tempo Storm had a less than stellar draft but was able to keep up a decent level lead throughout the match. However, Team Blaze was able to get a huge triple kill causing Tempo Storm to lose close to half of their gems. Blaze was able to get the boss (noticing a trend yet?) and get a webweaver turn in.

After that, Team Blaze kept their the momentum kept rolling with a strong protection of the turn in point and this time a quad kill allowing for another webweaver release and gaining a full level ahead. It looked as if Blaze could take the 2-0 win but a questionable call to go for a second boss did not end in their favor. Cool downs left them at a vulnerable position allowing Tempo Storm to win a huge team fight and go straight to the core.

Game #3

Game three was a push and pull with Team Blaze barely holding the lead thanks to solid turn in protection and, yes, a boss. Team Blaze ultimately won the series due to a suspect call from Tempo Storm in which they attempted to take the boss, ignoring the full turn in by Team Blaze which gave them the pressure needed to take the win and the series.
